On-the-spot fine for having non-factory fitted auxiliary lights on car in Cyprus...
A friend has recently suffered an on the spot fine from the police here in Cyprus for the 'crime' of having a vehicle with illegal spotlights. Apparently he was told that unless the auxiliary lamps were fitted to the vehicle when it was new then they are illegal. Could someone qualify this point for me please. Any information given would not be used to try to seek redress, I am simply concerned about additional lamps on my own vehicle.
We don't believe that lights which are not factory fitted should attract a penalty unless they are fitted incorrectly.
