British national pays tax in Portugal: is he of UK domicile and can he claim compensation in the UK?

I am a British national living on the Algarve and running a business here. Recently my car was struck by a passing vehicle while parked at Faro Airport. Am I able to claim for my damage and an injury in the UK even though I pay tax in Portugal as I know that compensation claims are generally higher in Britain?

Whether you can claim in the UK or Portugal depends on your domicile and while this makes reference to the place you pay tax, this is by no means definitive.

In the first instance it is worth checking out our article on domicile and in any event you should complete our free claim assessment form whereupon you will receive expert assistance on your domicile...
